The WELL Building Standard
Historically, there have been various ways to measure how an interior space “works.” The metric may be sq. ft./person or cost/sq. ft. Such determinants have a rightful place among the principles of design, but it is possible to reconcile economic necessities with a design that’s intelligent, interesting and human-centered. This session outlines how the essential components of design intersect with the principle components of the WELL Building Standard to create spaces that promote psychological well-being…resulting in more engaged, inspired, and empowered workers that exhibit a higher level of creativity and innovation.

Hug-A-Bear Campaign
The Community Relations Committee is sponsoring the annual Hug-a-Bear Campaign to collect teddy bears to present to the Houston Police Department at the March 14th Luncheon Program.
Collected bears will be distributed to the Houston Police and Fire Departments so that officers and firefighters can carry them in their patrol units, fire trucks, and ambulances. The bears are used to comfort children who have suffered a traumatic experience or crisis situation. Some of the bears will be given to the Juvenile Sex Crimes Unit Investigators so that they can bring comfort to the young victims. Please bring your new, 12”-14” bear to the March 14th Luncheon Program.
IFMA's GOAL: Collect 1000 Bears!
Challenge: Groups or individuals who donate 30+ bears are eligible for door prizes!
