James O'Neill, AIA
Founding Principal
Inventure Design

As founding principal, Jim O’Neill set out in 1997 to create a firm that would distinguish itself in three ways. First, it would offer the design creativity of a very large organization—but without the bulk. Second, the new firm would elevate client service and include clients as vital members of the project team. Third, Jim would be actively involved in every project day in, day out.

Today, Inventure Design is unlike any other firm in Houston. We create building architecture and interior spaces that are harmonious and beautiful and convert our clients into collaborators, willing to understand the power of technology to make our lives better without lowering the power of people to do great things. This balance between technology and people are reflected in the spaces we create.

Jim believes in collaboration and the power of strategic alliances. This allows Inventure to work with some of the best architecture firms in the country. To keep Inventure Design on the leading edge of the profession, Jim focuses on the power of technology and dedicates firm resources to encouraging team development through his technology.

Hug-A-Bear Campaign

The Community Relations Committee is sponsoring the annual Hug-a-Bear Campaign to collect teddy bears to present to the Houston Police Department at the March 9th Luncheon Program.

Collected bears will be distributed to the Houston Police and Fire Departments so that officers and firefighters can carry them in their patrol units, fire trucks and ambulances. The bears are used to comfort children who have suffered a traumatic experience or crisis situation. Some of the bears will be given to the Juvenile Sex Crimes Unit Investigators so that they can bring comfort to the young victims. Please bring your new, 12”-14” bear to the March 9th Luncheon Program.

IFMA's GOAL: Collect 500 Bears!

Challenge: Groups or individuals who donate 30+ bears are eligible for door prizes!
