The Panel will consist of the following speakers:

Dean Strombom - Gensler

 With a Gensler career spanning more than three decades and a portfolio of more than 40 million square feet, Dean leads the planning and design of corporate campuses, commercial office buildings, workplace interiors and mixed-use developments. A highly regarded workplace performance specialist and frequent speaker at industry events across the U.S., Dean leverages his unique blend of education in psychology, sociology and architecture to offer strategic real estate and design insight. He is co-author of The Commercial Real Estate Revolution and on the Advisory Board of the University of Houston Graduate School of Real Estate at Bauer College as well as the Houston maritime Museum. Dean actively participates in the Houston chapters of AIA, ULI, NAIOP and CoreNet.

Kent Wisemen - Jones Lang LaSalle

Kent Wiseman is a Senior Vice President with Jones Lang LaSalle’s Project and Development Services (PDS) group and is an architect by trade. With over 30 years in the design industry in the Houston market, he is well suited to the responsibilities and technical knowledge of the construction processes, from initial work letter review to architect and general contractor selection to final project close out, specializing in interior design and construction. 

Mr. Wiseman's project management experience ranges from $500,000 (all inclusive) single floor remodels to $25,000,000 full service interior renovations having designed and produced over 10,000,000 SF as an interior architect and managed over $139,600,000 of build to suit and interior construction projects. 

Mr. Wiseman’s partial clients list includes:  Lime Rock Partners, TOTAL Petrochemical Inc. (TPI), Swift Energy, Indigo Minerals, Nexen Petroleum, Energy Transfer Partners and Transwestern Pipeline, ABB Inc., Exterran, Newfield Exploration, McDermott, Inc., FMC Technologies, Comcast Sportsnet, Rosetta Resources, and TransCanada.

Chris Hines - Trademark

 In his current role as senior vice president of Trademark HITT, Chris manages the organization’s daily operations and
strategic positioning to provide the highest level of professional construction services to the local market.

Chris has more than 28 years of construction experience specializing in high-end commercial interiors projects. Prior to being named senior vice president, Chris served as principal partner and chief executive officer of Trademark Construction, where he led business strategy and held numerous supervisory positions including project manager and project executive.

Trademark was acquired by HITT in January 2016, and Chris was elevated to his current position of the newly formed Trademark HITT.

Scott Minnix - City of Houston

Scott Minnix has been the Director of the General Services Department (GSD) for the City of Houston since November 17, 2010 with oversight of Building Design and Construction, Property Management, Real Estate, Security, and Employee Development.  He has responsibility for nearly $600M annual budget/spending and oversees the day to day building operations of nearly 400 facilities representing over 8 million square feet of occupied space.  Prior to joining the City of Houston, he held an executive position for the City of Seattle as a director of facility operations in the Fleet and Facility Department.

An adjunct Professor at HCC, Minnix is recognized nationally as a powerful educator and motivational speaker.  He has a unique ability to coach and get positive results using best practices optimizing team and individual performance.  Minnix has performed as a high-impact strategist throughout his 20-plus years of executive, operations, education/academic and HR leadership.

In 2015 Minnix achieved the FMP designation from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and attended the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education Program at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA receiving his Certification in Driving Government Performance.  He is actively engaged in the community and serves on the Boards of the Ensemble Theatre (Co-Chair); Texas Southern University’s College of Science Engineering And Technology (Board of Advisors); IFMA (Vice President); and Rice University’s Design Alliance Board.  Previously, he served on the Board of the Houston Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).  Additionally, he is an advisor to the World Youth Foundation and the Houston CSTEM Program. 

A former officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve, Minnix earned a B.A. in Business Administration/Management from the University of Puget Sound and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington.  He is an avid tennis player and golfer and attends Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church.
