Extremists

Just how big a threat are homegrown extremists to you and your institution?

And how does another venerated Houston institution, the Chevron Houston Marathon, protect participants, volunteers, staffers and emergency workers in the George R. Brown Convention Center and along 26.2 miles of Houston during the race?

You can get the answers to those questions and more at:

ADL’s Homegrown Violent Extremist and Event Planning Security Seminar
9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
August 26th
Congregation Beth Yeshurun
4525 Beechnut
Houston, TX 77096

The seminar will feature ADL Center on Extremism Director Oren Segal, who participated in this year’s White House Summit on Countering Violent Extremism. He will talk about how Americans of all races, religions and backgrounds are being recruited by terrorist and extremist organizations, and how pervasive recruitment is.

The seminar also will feature Wade Morehead, Executive Director of the Houston Marathon, who will talk about how the marathon manages security with so many people at such a huge event.

This seminar is made possible through the generosity of the Edith and Sidney Goldensohn Fund of the ADL’s Fund for the Future Southwest Region, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston.
