Stuart Duke
Vice President of Facilities & Properties for the YMCA of Greater Houston for the past 6 years. Prior to joining the YMCA of Greater Houston I spent 11 years with Target Corporation in a variety of capacities.
My team and I are responsible for at 35 sites on over 1,150 acres of land containing 1.5MM square feet of program space. My team consists of 7 directors, 2 administrative assistants, and 55 indirect reports responsible for the day to day maintenance within the centers.
Anthony Ortery
Leader of Facilities Operations for The Texas Children's Hospital. Anthony has spent over twenty years in the field of operations, and the last 11 years as a leader in healthcare facilities . He has directed operations for the construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings in Menninger's new 120 bed campus. Through the years he has gained an appreciation for mentoring and utilizing a teamwork approach to problem solving. This is a result of working closely with other departments on construction projects, safety issues, and emergency response in security matters. His most recent position has provided many challenges while at the same time strengthening his base knowledge of facilities management.
His previous experiences included owning a company that supported operations of well known commercially owned properties. This position allowed coordination with Facilities Directors as necessary to support the mission of their companies. Additionally he has partnered with a commercial air conditioning repair company to ensure the success of the company and its clients.
Brandon L. Shimer
As Director of Facilities and Security for Oceaneering International Inc. for the past 2 years I have been responsible for directing all site planning, administration, and construction for Oceaneering’s corporate headquarters, manufacturing facilities, and all identified leased and owned properties. Including providing assessments and input, as required, for acquisition and disposition of real estate; overseeing all new construction, remodeling, and furnishings; management of site sustainability, facility operations, infrastructure projects, and utilities; and supporting the design, implementation and maintenance of processes and facilities support of Lean manufacturing. Additionally I am also responsible for directing security staff in identifying potential workplace, travel, and environmental threats to the Company’s global employees and physical assets, while ensuring that appropriate strategies, policies, procedures, and processes are in place to assist all business units and functional support groups in the reduction of security, crisis, and business continuity risks.
Prior to joining Oceaneering, I spent 5 years with Continental/United Airlines as a manager and senior manager in the Global Real Estate department managing the development and construction of airport facilities. During 2014, I obtained my FMP credentials as well as my PMP certification to add to my arsenal to better support the organization in its efforts to maintain a lean cost efficient facilities organization. Along with the FMP and PMP credentials, my educational background with an BBA in Accounting and an MBA, provide the foundation necessary to successfully manage the over 120 global sites at Oceaneering.
