Planning an $6.8 Billion in Multifaceted Development Takes Downtown to a New Level

Laura Van Ness of Central Houston, Inc. will discuss the many developments (office, hotel, residential, HSPVA high school) underway and planned as well as findings from the organization's recent strategic planning.

Laura Van Ness is Director, Business Development for Central Houston, Inc., focusing primarily office tenant retention and recruitment, but she also gets involved with individuals considering major development projects and investments in downtown.

Central Houston is a non-profit organization supported by businesses and institutions with an interest in downtown revitalization.  The organization focuses on urban planning, economic development, transportation issues, public safety, and many other programs.  CHI works closely with its sister organizations, the Houston Downtown Management District, and the Downtown Redevelopment Authority to improve and enhance downtown.

Laura will give us a close look at the many – and diverse – developments occurring and planned for downtown.
