Furniture Planning Advil:
Best Practices to Manage Furniture Projects and Reduce Headaches
Dianne Murata, Founding Principal
Kimiko Designs’ founding principal Dianne Murata speaks from 20+ years of hands-on experience. She is the leader of an unaffiliated, independent furniture consulting firm serving designers, owners, and facility managers. Attendees will learn insider Furniture Planning strategies, tactics and tools that can be implemented immediately in their facilities.
Dianne will share project cost implications, budget and schedule busters, and restack DOs and DON’Ts of the Furniture Planning process. Thoughtful budgeting and anticipation of key details will be discussed to boost confidence in project management and red flag common pitfalls and mistakes.
Creative furniture ideas will be explored to optimize existing asset reuse, with bonus pointers on decommissioning furniture in a fiscally smart and environmentally wise manner. Get ready to learn tips for coordinating everything from tables to trash cans in this – not to be missed – Furniture Planning session.
More About Our Speaker
A self-proclaimed Furniture Nerd, Dianne Murata is the Principal and Owner of Houston-based Kimiko Designs, a team of furniture planning and specification consultants across North America. Dianne believes that we can change the world one chair at a time because furniture is the single object that is physically touched every single day, and it impacts our sense of well-being and support––literally and figuratively. A creative strategist for over 20 years, Dianne is known for thinking outside the cube to solve furniture puzzles for everyone from P. Diddy to the Pentagon.
Dianne is an interior design graduate from the University of Manitoba (Canada, eh?). When not rescuing puppies, she is an industry thought leader, builder of exceptional professional teams and nationally recognized contract furniture expert.
